Wow…it’s been a while since I posted the first blog.
As it has been mentioned on the website, I am a carpenter by day and an ‘entrepreneur’ by night (and weekends, too)…and to be honest I have been so busy on the tools lately, that I haven’t had a chance to scratch my nose, let alone write up a blog…
We recently signed up to Netflix and everyone loves it. Personally, I like nothing more than a great documentary.
Over the weekend I took in ‘Slingshot’ about a guy who’s probably more famous for no one actually knowing who he is, than what he’s actually famous for…
The man in question is #Dean Kamen, inventor of the popular #Segway.
I won’t spoil the show by telling you too much, but if you’re an inventor or entrepreneur of any description, this one will not fail to impress.
His story of a 10-12 year mission for overnight success was nothing short of Capital A-mazing.
So back to the reason for the latest blog…
I was so inspired by ‘Slingshot’ that I decided to change tack on how we can present Flip’N’Grip pouches to a worldwide market.
On good advice, I recently sent out proposals to the larger tool suppliers to see if they’d be interested in licensing our Flip’N’Grip products. I’m really excited about hearing back from each of them.
You see, I’m keen to know who’s into helping tradies and construction workers change their on-site habits when it comes to the health and lifestyle benefits of wearing Flip’N’Grip tool pouches.
As you all know, our pouches are a major improvement on typical tool pouches out there for a fair few reasons. We just need to let the ‘Big Players’ know that we’re here to stay and best with us in their stable than someone else’s…
I would love to hear from as many of you as possible with your feedback on the benefits of Flip’N’Grip pouches, how they have been of use to you, and of equal importance, would you buy more Flip’N’Grip tool pouches were they stocked in hardware stores near you or otherwise available online.
Thanks for your continued support and all the very best for the upcoming festive season.
Cheers
Neil

DON’T FORGET THE SURVEYOR’S WORLD
THE BAG
I am looking at your product from a surveyors point of view and its hard to find a light weight (not heavy leather as commonly used by surveyors), easy fit surveyors bag. In our belt we often need to carry iPads, tape measures, hammers & concrete pins depending on the task at hand, we need our tools and have our hands free. Like many tradesman, surveyors are fussy about their tool belts. I would love to talk to you about refining your existing design to extend the range to a bag specifically for surveyors.
NOW THE DRINK BOTTLE (PAINT CAN) HOLDER
I am also keen to get some of your individual drink holders because as surveyors we often need to carry cans of paint….So make that two drink holders one for my water and one for my paint. At times we need to carry different colours of paint so being able to strap on another or multiple can holders would be fantastic.
SURVEY EVOLUTION
The survey world has evolved from two man crews to a one man crew often requiring the one man crew to carry more, I can see your product would be beneficially for survey world.
Its great to see an evolution in the tool belt market.
I feel the tool belt market would be a near impossible market to enter but I feel your product has found a gap in the market, well done.
Paul
Utility Surveyor
Thanks for such great feedback Paul.
It’s always good to know where we can help out with new pouches and great to hear you like the current range.
We are always looking for new ideas and would love to see what you have in mind so we can get them sampled and tested…by you, if thats OK?
Looking forward to hearing back from you in due course. Feel free to drop me a line via email.
Cheers
Neil
Awesome bit of kit, readily interchangeable in seconds & tough as hell, this is the best work belt without a doubt- try it you won’t be disappointed!
Having been in the construction game for over 25 years I can honestly say this is one of those products that comes around every now and again and changes the way you work… For the better.
It simply makes things easier! Being able to switch the belt to suit the job you are doing is genius and pretty much all tools, fixings etc. are at hand!
What more can one say.A well rounded product which is durable enough to handle the harsh realities of the work site.Has the versatility to hold as many holders or as little holders to suit your needs and last but certainly not least, the product really does look the part!
It’s a real credit to Neil and the team at FlipnGrip to see this great product evolve.Look forward to aquiring myself a new carpenters pouch with all the bells and whistles to boot in the not to distant future.
Thanks for your appraisal Jarred. As well as looking the part, we’re making sure you tradies have everything you need close to hand in well designed and well made pouches to suit the purposes. Cheers again Jarred
I have been involved with the Flipngrip range since its infancy, and in this time have not seen anything like this on the market, from the comfort fitting belt to the easy remove and add pouches, this is a winner for anyone who wears it. Neil has spent a large portion of his time with the help of other in refining the tool belt system to a point were it is ready for mass market and again who ever purchase this system will not be disappointed.
Basically it is a great tool belt system to own, in the time I have been involved it has great interest from Resellers, Government, Civil, Construction, Concreting, Rigging, scaffolding, Building, and Electrical industries and also with the ability to customise pouches and Branding it has further potential in other areas of industry such as America ( placed first in innovation awards in America) and Europe.
to anyone who reads this get Flipngripped and you wont regret it.
I’ve been using the belt and pouch combo for three years in the roof and gutter world and found it to be very light and slim (close to the body). It doesnt get snagged on ladders etc. neat design and robust. Cheers,
Tony
Thanks for checking in Tony. Our pouch designs have all been so well road tested that we are now finding that other companies are copying our actual pouch designs….sadly for them they can’t use the Flip’N’Grip attachment system…unless of course they would like to chat about licensing, How apt…!
I’ve purchased 6 different pieces and at first I thought it may be to much…..but after couple of days I realized that this is exactly what I needed….they very easy to put on, well designed and most of all incredibly useful.
I have been using flip ‘n’ grip tool belts and pouches almost since their conception and have never looked back.
My faith in the product is so gteat that i have even sold the belts to fellow shopfitters whilst onsite as they also could seet the potential in having something so versitile.
I have followed the development of the pouches and the belt through the years and believe that all that hard work has paid off with the current range satisfying the needs of any tradesmen.
What a great product i cant wait to see it on the shelves in my local bunnings
Thanks for coming on here and leaving your message Matt. Many thanks to you and the guys for supporting us over time. Your feedback and input has been invaluable in the development of Flip’N’Grip. Catch up when you’re in Sydney next…cheers mate
Too easy to use, a pouch for any requirement. Strong well made, sexy bit of kit.
Why wouldn’t you want to use it.
Luv ur work.
Thanks Jason. We’ve worked long and hard on getting the new look pouches looking ‘sexy’ as you say…
Cheers
what a tool belt. i was running a buckeroo 4 a while but flip and grips the way to go
My chiropractor tells me he sees way too many tradies and police officers with bad backs from carrying badly balanced heavy tool belts. The Flip’n’Grip system makes it easy to carry just the tools they need for the job at hand, instead of everything “just in case they need it”. I can see F’n’G save money that would otherwise be spent on physios and chiros, and have a positive impact on personal relationships and lifestyles.
It’s a life saver and a no-brainer for every trades person out there.
That’s the real beauty of the Flip’N’Grip system and my main inspiration Peter. Far too many tradies are out of the game due to back injuries and most of those injuries can be easily avoided.
The quicker the guys out there get educated on the way they use tool belts and pouches, the better.
It’s the main reason we are looking at licensing the brand. The big suppliers/distributors of tools have the requisite resources at hand that we need to get our message across.
A very versatile light weight low profile and evenly balanced tool belt to say the least. Fantastic on commercial and domestic sites. Excellent in confined spaces as you can simply remove any excess pouches with a simple flip of the velcro fastening in a second and also great up ladders where you can un flip pouch from belt and then grip your desired pouch around the rung of the ladder. As I said a very versatile tool belt with so many combinations even with out the belt . A must have for any Tradie worth his salt. When are you going design the end cutting nips holster Neil ? I seem to be tieing alot of steel lately. These tool belts would make a great Christmas present for any wives reading hint hint. Top product.
Hi Ray, we have a few pouches and holsters on the drawing board right now, but we won’t go into production with them until we sign up a Licensee.
We are keen to add a scaffolders rig to our range and this will include a ‘nips pouch/holster’. Thanks ever so for your suggestion. Cheers
I’ve been using the electricians pouch plus attachments for a few years now, a good comfortable and well designed pouch. I’ll be sticking with the flip ‘n’ grip design
Good work Neil
I am 74years old and have been using tool belts for all of my working life they all had some shortcomings. My main trade was domestic and commercial stainless steel fabrication plus working on building sites . I met Neil on a.worksite approximately 6 years ago he lent me one of his belts with a full compliment of pouches he didn’t get them back. I won’t leave home without it . One whishes it was available many years ago as they are so comfortable and versatile.
I thought you were only 25 when we met Dennis…LOL
Great product! Why carry extra gear and more weight then you need? The safe, quick and easy removal, and add on of pouches means you only carry what you need for the specific job. Quality build makes it durable, and light weight takes the strain off your back. I recommend the Flip ‘n’ Grip system of belts and pouches for anyone on the tools!
Thank you Jonathan, said like a true believer…! Pretty much what we’re trying to get across in a nutshell (or a decent sized paragraph LOL)
I’ve been a big promoter of Flip’N’Grip ever since i met Neil and saw these great pouches . The versatility of arrangement and lightness of the product is second to none . I always get great feedback when other tradies see my belt and cannot wait for more innovation from Flip’N’Grip .
Thanks for your feedback Will. Does your brother still want the carpenters pouch he was after a couple of weeks ago. Somehow I don’t have his number…Have a great weekend mate…
I’ve been using your tool belts for ages they are the best product out there good work Neil .
Thanks Owen, appreciate the reply.
I have been using the pouches for a few years now and they have helped me immensely. I can now carry all the tools and equipment that I need up ladders and know that they are within reach and safely stored. Less accidents waiting to happen and less fumbling around trying to find your tools. I wouldn’t be without the pouches now
Kind words John, thanks mate
these are a well thought out and well made tool belt system,as Neil says made by tradies for tradies
What more needs to be said
Thanks for your comments Tony. We take immense pride in the pouches we’ve designed and everyone seems happy with them so far. To be honest, we’ve never had any negative feedback.
